Our Opportunity: We are looking for Speech Pathologists for our extended school year program that runs from July 6th through August 13th. There is the option to continue as a long-term substitute into the beginning of the school year.

Who We Are: The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 50 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.

Job Snap Shot: The Speech & Language Therapist provides comprehensive educational, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to students with speech and language deficits. The Therapist attempts to enhance the student's academic abilities by using a variety of techniques and/or therapeutic intervention strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PA Speech Language Pathologist License
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Speech & Language Pathologist K-12 Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • BA in Communications Disorders preferred, Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working within an autistic support program
  • Updated clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, PA Criminal Record)

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop speech/language lessons for individual/group therapy sessions.
    • Provide ongoing consultation/communication to teachers, therapists, and specialists to provide for collaboration in meeting IEP goals/objectives.
    • Schedule therapy sessions for all students in compliance with IEP requirements. Maintain ongoing therapy notes for each child’s session.
    • Utilize a quantitative data collection system to document student progress on ESY goals/objectives.
    • Attend IEP meetings and complete speech/language components of IEP in collaboration with parents and other team members as needed.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and participate in parent conferences as necessary.
    • Communicate with the administration as needed regarding issues/concerns impacting the speech and language department.
    • Complete assessments/procedures for assistive technology needs.
    • Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act.
    • Complete additional duties as assigned and attend all required staff & parent meetings.
