Who We Are:

The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 50 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.

Job Snap Shot:

The School Nurse helps to advance the well-being and overall health of The Timothy School’s students by focusing on providing preventive services, identifying problems in their earliest stages, and overseeing interventions and emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse License

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the administration of medications to students, and monitor off-site administration. Complete all health-related documentation.
  • Arrange for student examinations (e.g. height, weight) and staff development in First Aid, CPR, Seizure response, Epi-pen administration and any other health-related trainings needed. Maintain all school AEDs.
  • Serve as a member of the clinical team and communicate with families and/or physicians to ensure all medication information on file is accurate and updated.
  • Provide guidance and support to administration/staff regarding any health-related student issues. In emergency situations, administer First Aid as needed, and determine the need for any emergency transport. Contact parents as necessary during emergency situations and maintain lines of communication until resolution.
  • Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act.
  • Serve on pandemic team and assist with maintaining ongoing health and safety of school building/population through duration of COVID-19-related restrictions and modifications, including daily monitoring of student/staff health, maintaining communication with Chester County Department of Health and following metrics/recommendations related to COVID-19.
