Who We Are:

The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 50 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.

Job Snap Shot:

The Occupational Therapist will support students in the areas of daily living, educational and vocational skills. The Occupational Therapist will work with the students both individually and in group sessions to address sensory needs and fine & gross motor dexterities within the classroom and throughout their educational program.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy License Required
  • 2-4 years of related work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Experience working within an autistic support program a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop occupational therapy interventions for individual/group therapy sessions.
  • Provide ongoing consultation/communication with teachers, specialists, and therapists to provide for collaboration in meeting IEP goals/objectives.
  • Schedule therapy for all students in compliance with IEP requirements.
  • Develop a quantitative data collection method for documenting student progress on IEP objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student occupational therapy progress/performance.
  • Participate on the multidisciplinary team for student reevaluation/IEP development.
  • Attend IEP meetings and complete occupational therapy components of IEP in collaboration with parents and other team members
  • Complete quarterly report cards for students indicating progress on IEP objectives.
  • Communicate with the administration as needed regarding issues/concerns impacting on the occupational therapy department.
  • Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act.
  • Complete assessments/procedures related to the acquisition of adaptive equipment for students as needed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned and attend all required staff & parent meetings.
